Whom would Sugarcane growers of Basti elect?

Distressed sugarcane growers in Basti constituency of the poll-bound state of Uttar Pradesh, would be voting only for those candidates who promise to resolve their issue of disparity in crop returns. The constituency, which is dominated by sugarcane growers, has been on the receiving end of the state government's apathy and poor policies due to which farmers have been facing massive losses over the years. A local Congress party candidate Sanjay listed the details of the problems being faced in the constituency. However local journalists are of the opinion that the area's issues and development would again be buried in caste based politics rampant in the region.
