Iran’s Defense Ministry is openly challenging Donald Trump’s claims about the damage done to Iran’s military, in what looks like a direct attempt to undermine the U.S. president’s narrative after his decision to pause fresh strikes. Reports on May 18 said Defense Ministry spokesperson Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik rejected Trump’s assertion that Iran’s defensive power had been destroyed and insisted that parts of Iran’s military capacity have still not been used.
