Here's how people of Assam are gearing up for Bhogali Bihu

On this day, people feast on lip-smacking authentic Assamese delicacies and play traditional games. On the eve of Bihu, known as Uruka, people set ablaze Mejis and Bhelaghars, which are makeshift huts and dance around the bonfire feasting on traditional meals.

Bhogali Bihu is one of the major festivals celebrated in the northeastern state of Assam every year to mark the end of the harvesting season. This year, it will be observed on 14. Preparations have started in Assam in full swing and people were seen crowding market areas to buy fish and meat ahead of the main festival. (ANI)
