<p>Hundreds of costumed dogs descended on a New York City park for what's billed as the largest Halloween dog parade in US.</p><p>Thousands of spectators mingled Saturday with about 300 four-legged contestants near the stage in Manhattan's Tompkins Square Park.</p><p>Every imaginable breed was paraded one by one to preen before judges in the hopes of a Best in Show award.</p><p>There were doggy dinosaurs, an alligator and a fisherman. There also were characters from &ldquo;The Wizard of Oz&rdquo; and &ldquo;The Flintstones&rdquo; and a dog dressed as Pope Francis.</p>

<p>In Indonesia, old wood scraps are finding new life as fashion accessories. The company Matoa is turning discarded wood from local furniture makers into stunning timepieces.</p><p>The Matoa brand is perfect timing for Indonesia, as the country seeks to encourage creativity and attract new artists. About 25 watchmakers work around the clock to create about 25 watches per day. Each wooden watch sells for between Rs 5000 to Rs.8000. They are sold in at least nine countries, including Singapore, China, Japan, South Africa and the United States.</p>

<p>In celebration of the U.K.'s national chocolate week, models took to the runway in London Friday for a special chocolate fashion show.</p><p>Ensembles designed by chocolatiers Aneesh Popat, Anita Thakker, Lucie Bennett and Laurent Pratt were among those featured at the event.</p><p>Bennett and Pratt created an outfit inspired by the fairy tale character Maleficent, while Thakker opted for an edible haute couture style dress.</p><p>National chocolate week ends on Sunday, 18 October.</p>

Watch | Hundred years of Halloween costumes in a time-lapse

<p>One hundred years of Halloween costumes can be seen in only three minutes in a new video, published online by Lifestyle story curators Mode.com. It shows a model wearing a ghost-like outfit from 1915 to a Kim Kardashian-esq outfit from 2015. It also features a cat-themed outfit from 1965 and a cow girl theme from 1955.</p><p>Mode said it carried out extensive research into the costumes, studying the most common costumes from every decade. Its prop and fashion stylists created the looks, purchasing some from collectors, it said.</p>

Watch | 100 years of wedding gown fashion in 90 seconds

<p>A video showing the fashion of weddings gowns over the last century has gone viral gaining over 3 millions hits on social media since it was first uploaded on September 30.</p><p>The video was made by Mode.com and the idea for showcasing the gowns came from Mode's executive director Avelino Pombo.</p><p>Pombo told Reuters that the idea behind the video was to use the style of the dresses to highlight cultural change throughout the decades.</p><p>The video shows the model Lolly Howie being dressed in eleven gowns ranging from the more demure lace of the early 19th century right through to the huge satin and big hair of 80's and ending on a minimalist dress from 2015</p><p>At the end of the video another model comes on dressed as a groom and the pair leave together.</p>

Watch | New ‘puppet facelift’ does the trick without knives

<p>Facelift without knives? This new technique called 'puppet facial' claims to give a youthful appearance by manipulating sagging muscles with threads. Threads are pulled by needles through the dermis and the subcutaneous tissue to the layer of collagen. The doctor then manipulates slack muscles in much the same way as a puppeteer moves his puppets. This particular procedure is part of an exhibition for members of the beauty trade and Dr. Amanda Wong Powell from Courthouse Clinics is in charge.</p><p>The 'puppet facial' is aimed at women aged between forty and sixty and is not suitable for women who have a great deal of sagging skin, or for women who have undergone a great deal of weight loss. It isn't cheap to have the treatment, it costs just under a thousand pounds ($1,520) for two strands to be threaded. Pizzamiglio argues it is still a good option for many middle aged women who aren't ready, or don't want a surgical facelift.</p>

<p>Newly crowned Miss America, Betty Cantrell, shares two very unusual beauty secrets - butt glue and face baking. Wondering what these might be? Cantrell goes on to explain that butt glue helps them walk in swimsuits with ease because it literally sticks on to butts while face baking sets the powder on your face and lets it sit before blending it in. Cantrell was crowned the new Miss America in September.</p><p>Surprisingly, the 20 year-old didn't have a whole lot of experience prior to the competition. She didn't compete in pageants as a child and, at the suggestion of a family friend, entered her first in late 2013.</p><p>After competing in a few other small pageants, Cantrell won the Miss Georgia competition on June 20, 2015.</p><p>It was just three months later that she won Miss America. Along with the title of Miss America, Cantrell also won a $50,000 scholarship and gets the chance to travel to new cities and meet new people. However, these experiences probably won't compare to what she has already experienced.</p>

More than 300 facial hair aficionados from across the globe came together in Leogang, Austria with elaborately-styled beards. There were three groupings at the event: moustache, partial beard and full beard.</p><p>Within each group, there were several categories, ranging from the 'Dali' moustache to the 'Garibaldi' full beard.</p><p>The jury members decide which category participants belong in at the start of the competition. Watch: Dogs walk the ramp to show off latest designer outfits in London

<p>Ahead of London Fashion Week, dogs took to the catwalk - or should that be dogwalk, in the British capital to show off exclusive designer outfits for pets. The show, from dog accessories brand Hiro + Wolf, took place in London on Wednesday and saw various breeds sport ornate collars and coats. Hiro + Wolf designer Amy Fleuriot said the collection was inspired by the East End of London and other elements. Fleuriot and Friedmann's brand, Hiro + Wolf, is named after their pet dogs, who walked in the show. London Fashion Week kicks off on Friday, 18 September.</p>

<p>The Egyptian city of Alexandria on Friday hosted an Iftar meal on what it hoped to be the world's longest table. The idea originally came to a group of engineering students, and hundreds of volunteers took part in organising the table, which could seat up to 10-thousand people for the Iftar dinner. Ossama Barakat, one of the organisers of the event, said the 4.5 kilometre long table had surpassed in length the previous record-holder Italy's table, which he said was two kilometres long (1.2 miles). During Ramadan, the holiest month in Islam, millions of Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, smoking and sex from dawn to dusk.</p>

<p>Squatting in super-tight 'skinny' jeans may pose a health risk, Australian doctors warned, reporting the case of a woman who temporarily lost feeling in her legs from an hours-long squeeze. The 35-year-old collapsed and had to be hospitalised the day after helping a relative move home, spending hours on her haunches to unpack cupboards.The unusual case was reported in a British specialist publication, the Journal of Neurology Neurosurgery & Psychiatry. The woman's legs were so swollen that the jeans could only be removed by cutting them off. She couldn't move her ankles or toes properly, and had lost feeling in her lower legs and feet. She was put on a drip, and was able to walk normally again only four days later.</p>

A suburban Detroit couple from US, who have two older children, are adjusting to life after becoming parents to identical triplets - a multiple birth a doctor calls rare. The Whiteley family celebrated the one-month birthdays of Alexander, Nicholas and Timothy. Lauren Whiteley, who wasn't taking fertility treatments, says it "was the shock of a lifetime" when an ultrasound revealed three fetuses. She and her husband, Michael, say triplets don't run in their families. Their older sons are 3 and 2. Neonatologist Dr. Savitri Kumar at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where the triplets were born January 25, says data on triplet births by natural conception is variable from one in 60,000 to one in 2 million. Kumar says one-in-a-million is the most commonly quoted.
