COP26 deal: Modi govt's push to dilute coal aim, climate fund let-down decoded

After hectic parleys, an agreement was finally reached at the Glasgow COP26 climate summit. However, many quarters, including the United Nations General Secretary, expressed disappointment at the outcome of the talks. The deal has been accused of being weak on ending coal and fossil fuel subsidies, and also on ensuring climate finance for developing countries.
