A former Afghan MP Mursal Nabizada and her bodyguard have been shot dead at her home in the capital Kabul, according to the police. A Kabul police spokesman said a "serious" probe into the case has been initiated. The incident marks the first murder of a lawmaker from the previous administration in Kabul since the Taliban's takeover. 32-year-old Mursal Nabizada was one of the few female MPs who stayed in Kabul after the Taliban seized power in August 2021.
