India remembers CDS Bipin Rawat on birth anniversary; Here are 10 things to know

India on Wednesday paid tribute to Bipin Rawat, who was the country's first chief of defence staff, on his birth anniversary. Rawat, the first chief of defence staff, along with his wife died in a chopper crash in Tamil Nadu's Coonoor last year. On Tuesday, Army Chief Gen Naravane announced the setting up of a 'Chair of Excellence' in memory of Gen Rawat.
