After speculations and many meetings with the high command, Navjot Singh Sidhu finally took charge as the Chief of Punjab Congress in an elaborate ceremony on Friday. Before the ceremony, CM Amarinder Singh hosted a tea party to meet Sidhu and bury the hatchet. For months, reports of a rift between CM Amarinder and Sidhu had been emerging as Sidhu had been openly criticising his party’s Chief Minister on various occasions and issues.
