As the situation in Afghanistan remains a cause of concern for the world community, Narendra Modi government in India today reached out to opposition parties and briefed them about the events and evacuation plan in the Taliban-held country. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar told leaders of major political parties that the situation in Afghanistan is critical and that the top priority of India remains evacuating all stranded Indians and safety of diplomatic staff.
