The United States Trade Representative (USTR) has proposed trade action against 60 economies, including India, alleging that they have failed to adequately prohibit and enforce restrictions on imports made using forced labour. India is among 54 economies accused of not effectively enforcing bans on imports produced with forced labour. The list also includes major US trading partners such as China, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
