What to expect during Russian president's India visit | Watch

Russian President Vladimir Putin is all set to visit India for an annual summit next month. Putin's visit is expected to coincide with the delivery of the first batch of S-400 air defence systems. His visit will be preceded by the inaugural 2+2 dialogue of the defence & foreign ministers of India, Russia in Moscow. Sources said India, Russia 2+2 dialogue will prepare the grounds for the annual summit with PM Modi and both sides are looking at December 6 as the most likely date for the annual summit. India-Russia summit could not be held in 2020 due to covid-19 pandemic. Putin's visit to India will be his second foreign visit since the outbreak of Covid pandemic. Sources added that Putin's upcoming visit to new delhi reflects the importance attached by Russia to its relationship with India. Developments in Afghanistan after Taliban takeover are also expected to figure in both the 2+2 dialogue & annual summit. Both India and Russia haven't recognised Taliban setup in Kabul & have backed calls for an inclusive govt in Afghanistan.
