Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu's party secured a landslide win in the parliament elections. The People's National Congress won 66 of the 86 seats for which results had been declared. The PNC contested 90 out of the 93 seats & won over a two-third majority in the house. This excludes independent and MNP/MDA candidates backed by the Maldives’ ruling party. The primary opposition, Maldivian Democratic Party, managed to win only 15 seats. Experts say that the latest poll victory could lead to Muizzu hardening his pro-China tilt. Watch this to know more.
