India's Anil Kumble, a fighter all the way

India test captain Anil Kumble, who announced his international retirement, will go down as one of his country's most combative cricketers, his colleagues said on Sunday. The 38-year-old leg-spinner, test cricket's third highest wicket-taker with 619 scalps, quit after the drawn third test against Australia at his favorite Ferozshah Kotla ground in New Delhi.
