Ireland, after choosing to bat first, got off to by far their best start in the tournament and reached a decent score of 243-7. Chasing 244 for a win that would have put them in contention for the fourth spot on the points table, Bangladesh lost regular wickets and were dismissed for 169 in the 42nd over.
