Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur gave a warm send-off to Tokyo-bound Indian athletes. Thakur went to the IGI airport & expressed confidence that athletes will perform well. The Indian athletes left for Tokyo to take part in the Olympics beginning July 23. “It's with their handwork, dedication that our athletes have reached this place. I am sure they are going to do well, but there should not be pressure on them. We, from the Sports Ministry, have come here to encourage all the athletes,” the sports minister said. Athletes & support staff in eight sports departed from New Delhi on Saturday. A total of 127 Indian athletes have qualified for the Tokyo olympics. This is the biggest-ever contingent that India is sending to any olympics.
