During a state visit to Kyrgyzstan ahead of the 2025 CSTO summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin briefly tried his hand at the komuz, a traditional three‑string Kyrgyz lute, in a cultural stop with Belarus’s leader. Putin plucked a few notes on the folk instrument before continuing to Bishkek for meetings of the CSTO Collective Security Council, hosted under the chairmanship of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
