Macron becomes France’s youngest leader since Napoleon

Addressing supporters after his projected presidential victory, centrist independent candidate Emmanuel Macron expressed his “profound gratitude” at being elected president of France. Speaking from his En Marche campaign headquarters, Macron added that he will put all his “care and energy to be worthy of your trust.” Emmanuel Macron beat far right candidate Marine Le Pen, to victory. The candidate will be France's youngest leader since Napoleon. Thousands of Emmanuel Macron supporters celebrated Macron's win in the presidential election on Sunday in the courtyard outside the Louvre museum in Paris.
