A suicide bomber killed 48 people in a mosque in northwest Pakistan on December 21 where a former interior minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao was offering Muslim Eid festival prayers with worshippers. The former minister survived unhurt but at least 80 people, including his son, were wounded in the blast in Charsadda district. Meanwhile, thousands of people including grieving relatives and friends attended funeral prayers for the dead at a ground near blast site.
