Hundreds of demonstrators came to downtown Rio de Janeiro to protest the interim centre-right government led by Michel Temer.Brazil's leftist President Dilma Rousseff was recently impeached.The protesters say Rousseff was ousted in a coup and Temer's interim government is illegitimate. “We are here to defend democracy and to fight against this government. We are taking over the streets and doing everything necessary until Temer is out..” Many leftists, minorities and low-income Brazilians have banded together to say they fear a deep recession and the promised spending cuts the new government says are essential for an economic recovery
