Turkey has confronted Ukraine after two Turkish-operated vessels were hit in the Black Sea within 48 hours. Ankara summoned Ukrainian Ambassador Nariman Celal on August 29 and lodged a strong protest, demanding protection for human life, property and commercial navigation. The diplomatic clash followed an August 26 strike on Lider Bordo Mavi off Russia's Tuapse coast. A day later, Lider Kocatepe was reportedly targeted after being dispatched to tow the damaged vessel. With NATO's second-largest military increasingly concerned about Black Sea shipping, could attacks near Putin's coast now trigger a serious rupture between Erdogan and Zelensky?
