US-Iran war highlights: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Sunday warned that any attempt to bypass the agreed arrangements for the Strait of Hormuz would "increase tensions" in the Middle East, as Tehran and Washington accused each other of violating a fragile ceasefire.

Speaking during a visit to Baghdad, Araghchi also called for the establishment of a regional security framework involving Gulf countries, saying such cooperation was essential amid continuing instability in the region.

"Any attempt to adopt new or separate arrangements compared to what is underway by the Islamic Republic of Iran, will only lead to more complicated situations and delays in the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and will increase the tensions, as we witnessed in the past two nights," Araghchi told a press conference.

Bahrain has alleged that the Iranian strikes damaged a residential building on Sunday, though no casualties have been reported. The interior ministry added that Bahrain intercepted several Iranian attacks amid renewed US-Iran tensions.

Tensions between the United States and Iran continued to flare on second day straight on Sunday after the US military said it had struck multiple targets in Iran at President Donald Trump’s direction, continuing a string of attacks that have shaken the war’s uneasy ceasefire.

Iran Guard also threatened to end the peace talks with the US after flaring tensions on day two. “Let the enemy know that violating the ceasefire ... will lead to a complete halt of ongoing processes,” the Guard was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.

Trump said America struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, and coastal radar sites in tit-for-tat action for violating the ceasefire and threatened that “Iran will no longer exist” if the US uses military force.

Following this, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said early on Sunday that its navy and aerospace forces had launched a joint missile and drone operations targeting US military sites in Kuwait and Bahrain.

"Violating the ceasefire is contrary to Clause 1 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and will result in the complete halt of all diplomatic processes", the Guards said in a statement, according to Press TV.

Earlier in the day, Fars News Agency reported that people on the beaches and coastal areas of the Taharouyeh region in Sirik heard the sound of several explosions. Elderly residents in Qeshm too heard the sound of several explosions in this area.

Israel says Hezbollah militants killed in Lebanon

Israeli military said on Sunday it killed Hezbollah militants armed with rocket-propelled grenades and struck a rocket launcher in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon to remove threats to its soldiers.

The Israeli military said it struck the structure from which the militants operated and dismantled a rocket launcher that posed a threat.

New aggression will be met with a crushing response, says Iran

Ibrahim al-Fiqar, Official military Spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the operational command center that coordinates the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the regular Iranian army, said that Iran will regulate maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

Fiqar, in a series of posts on X, said that violation of ceasefire will be met with a crushing response.

"Any new aggression, regardless of its pretext or the scale of its objectives, will be met with a crushing response. Violating the ceasefire constitutes a breach of Article 1 of the Islamabad Understanding and will lead to a complete halt of all tracks. Under the Islamabad understanding, Iran will regulate maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. Violent vessels will be dealt with more firmly than before."

Iran warns Gulf neighbours

Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Sunday that they had launched strikes on Kuwait and Bahrain in retaliation for US attacks on Iranian territory, warning that any further military action would receive a "crushing response".

Iran and the US have accused each other of breaching the fragile ceasefire, raising fresh concerns over talks aimed at bringing the conflict in West Asia to an end.

In a statement, the Guards said they had "destroyed eight important US military facilities at the Ali al-Salem base in Kuwait and at the Fifth Fleet naval base in Port Salman in Bahrain."

"Any enemy aggression, whatever the pretext, even against insignificant targets... will have a crushing response," the Guards added.

The Guards said in a statement US strikes had violated the ceasefire and "will result in the complete halt of all diplomatic processes", according to state-run Press TV. American bases in the region "will experience hell in the coming days," the statement said.

US-Iran war news LIVE: Iran, US trade accusations of violating ceasefire after strikes

US-Iran war news LIVE: Tehran and Washington traded accusations that the other had violated the ceasefire after Iran claimed on Saturday that it had targeted US sites in the Persian Gulf after American aircraft hit Iranian weapons sites on Friday.

The US strikes — on missile storage and coastal radar installations — were in response to an Iranian drone attack on a Singapore-flagged container ship in the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday. The back-and-forth threatens to unravel the fragile detente that had largely ended fighting in the Middle East, though an unnamed US official told CNN after the US strikes that they didn’t constitute a return to major combat operations for now.

Iran’s foreign ministry in a statement on Saturday called the US attack “an explicit violation of the first paragraph of the Memorandum of Understanding” the two countries signed earlier this month. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that it had struck US sites in response, though it wasn’t clear which and Iran has previously claimed retaliatory attacks that remain unconfirmed. US Central Command did not respond to a request for comment on the Iranian claims.

US Vice President JD Vance said that the US had “honored” the deal.

“If they have disagreements about how the MOU is being applied, they can pick up the phone,” he said on X on Friday. “But violence will be met with violence.”
