Simone Biles vs Charlie Kirk row: Here’s the truth behind viral rumors
From Tokyo 2020 to social media clashes in 2025, Charlie Kirk’s comments regarding Simone Biles have been controversial.
Simone Biles, a 7-time Olympic gold medalist, recently came into the spotlight when she faced backlash over an alleged blog post that ‘mocked’ conservative activist Charlie Kirk's death. Later on, it turned out that the viral claim was fake. Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was killed at a Utah Valley University event on September 10.

Over the years, Charlie Kirk had made headlines on several occasions regarding his comments on Simone Biles. At times, his controversial remarks have even drawn strong reactions from fans. Here’s taking a look at some of them:
Know what all Charlie Kirk said about Simone Biles
Biles and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
The first big controversy was in July 2021 after Biles withdrew from some events at the COVID-19 delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Biles cited mental health and the “twisties”, a condition where gymnasts suddenly lose control of their bodies, making routines dangerous, according to Snopes.
On his The Charlie Kirk Show, Kirk criticized Biles for stepping back. He said he did not know what she had been through personally, including her past experiences with sexual abuse by former US Olympic gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar. Despite that, Kirk called her “selfish”, “weak”, “immature”, “a shame to the country”, “a sociopath” and “a disgrace”
Kirk also posted the video on X (formerly Twitter) and said he stood by every word.
Kirk vs Biles in 2025
Almost four years later in June this year, Kirk criticized Biles again on social media as well as on his show. This time, it was after Biles posted about former swimmer Riley Gaines, who is an anti-transgender athlete activist.
Kirk called Biles a “choke artist”, “basket case” and said she would be “known as a mockery”. He also made some controversial comments about Biles supporting transgender athletes asking questions that many considered inappropriate.

False rumors after Charlie Kirk’s death
After Kirk was shot in September 2025 a false rumor went viral that Biles posted an emotional statement about Kirk’s past comments. Investigations showed Biles never posted anything and the story came from a Facebook page in Vietnam that shared an AI generated article.
