Mu'awia Hassanein, director of ambulance and emergency in the Palestinian health ministry, said Ihab al-Bana, 30, and Ali Jum'a, 25, died when they were being taken to hospital, adding that three other militants were moderately hurt.

According to residents, more than 40 Israeli tanks and armoured vehicles rolled into the eastern territories of Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip where the Israeli army and the Palestinian fighters exchanged fire before the Israeli drones dropped bombs on the gunmen groups.

Meanwhile, a Hamas fighter, identified as 21-year-old Shadi Qtifan, has died due to wounds he sustained in an air strike two days ago.

The new round of fighting between Hamas and Israeli forces started when Israeli army carried out a sudden incursion into eastern Gaza city on January 15 that killed 19 Palestinians, including 13 Hamas militants.
