Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jabra Fan’ gets Rs 15,000 in compensation from YRF. Here’s why

A Bollywood fan reportedly received Rs 15,000 in compensation after she filed a complaint against Yash Raj Films for not including a song in Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan. According to a BollywoodHungama report, Afreen Zaidi moved District Consumer Forum in Aurangabad. requesting action against the makers of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Fan as the hit song Jabra Fan was not included in the final cut that was screened in theatres.
The Aurangabad circuit bench of the Maharashtra State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission directed Yash Raj Films to pay Rs 15,000 to Afreen Zaidi, the report added. The compensation for mental harassment was set at Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 was cost of the complaint.
Afreen, however, had sought Rs 60,550 as compensation, including Rs 3,550 towards expenditure incurred by her on the movie tickets, snacks and auto rickshaw fare, Rs 25,000 towards mental harassment and Rs 30,000 as lawyer fees.
Hindustan Times could not independently verify the report.
Jabra Fan was a promotional song that topped the charts for a long time. However, the song did not make it to the film and fans could watch it only during the end credit rolls.
