Shah Rukh Khan has assured his fans that there is nothing inappropriate in his new film, Jab Harry Met Sejal, after the censor board chief recently objected to the word ‘intercourse’ being used in the trailer.
Pahlaj Nihalani, the chief of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), had asked to delete the word ‘intercourse’ from one of the mini-promos of the film for TV, saying he would retain it if he gets one lakh votes in its favour.
Now that Nihalani has received one lakh votes, Shah Rukh was asked about his reaction.
“The way people have voted, they should come and watch the film too. I’ve said this before as well, we respect the CBFC a lot, they are doing their job, we are doing ours. Having said that, I don’t think in the context of the film there is anything objectionable,” SRK said at a special event where he launched a new song from the film.
The entire team of the film, along with SRK, co-star Anushka Sharma and director Imtiaz Ali, went club hopping to launch the song Beech Beech Mein.
This is the second song from the film, which came out after five mini promos and a celebratory track, Radha.
“The idea of coming out with the mini trailers was very difficult. Once I had asked Shah Rukh Khan how can we cut a trailer for this film as there is so much happening in the film. I am happy that people are responding to it positively,” Anushka said.
The film is scheduled to release on August 4.
