Dear stranger. Today I saw you sit where you sit every single day. You crumpled the newspaper as you raised the anchor of your ship and decided to travel into the world. Your eyebrows quietly went up and down as the words danced around the shy bright light. Your freshly polished shoes hid the restlessness of your toes, and the glass of your spectacles revealed the quiet contemplation in your eyes. And even though your fingertips drowned in a faraway white sea with waves of bitter grey and islands of bold black, you still never lost sight of the fumes that rose up from your tea cup and went no further than your roof. I remember the first time I managed to stand on my own feet and think for myself. I remember standing in front of a door like this one and spin into a world that could barely contain my thoughts. A world that would offer me adventures, adventures that would tattoo all of my fears and courage in the heart of my brown eyes. Yet today, I stand in front of you and I realise that I stare at a giant that sits behind carefully cut metal rods that hold together mighty windows. I may be chained forever to a lonely trail, but you must know that I also want to be you someday. #home
