India keen on FTA with GCC

India is keen to sign a free trade agreement (FTA) with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) though there was more action needed from the other side, Shashi Tharoor, minister of state for external affairs said at the Summit.

Tharoor said negotiations have been on for the last two years and it was time to break the deadlock and move ahead on the issue. Countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman comprise the GCC.

He also said all countries including India must address issue of climate change.
