Diesel is now priced at Rs. 52.70 per litre in Goa while petrol costs Rs. 52.10 per litre.

Goa has the lowest price for petrol in the country after the Manohar Parrikar-led government slashed VAT to 0.1% as part of the party's 2012 poll manifesto, which slashed petrol prices by a whopping Rs. 11 per litre.

With fuel prices tilting in favour of petrol, the head of All Goa Petrol Dealers Association Paresh Joshi, thinks, "Consumers may now go for petrol cars instead of diesel vehicles unlike elsewhere where the trend is opposite."
