If having fun while riding is high on your priority list, the Speed 400 will feel more enjoyable. It weighs 176 kg, which is noticeably lighter than the 192 kg of the X440 T. That lower weight, along with its compact dimensions, makes the Speed 400 feel quick, agile, and eager to change direction, especially in city traffic.
The X440 T takes a different approach. Its extra weight and bulk give it a more planted feel, particularly at higher speeds. It feels calmer and more relaxed, making it better suited for riders who prefer a stable and composed ride rather than a playful one.

How much does engine character matter to you: peppy and quick revving, or strong low end torque?
The Speed 400 is powered by a liquid cooled 399 cc engine that produces 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque. The way it delivers power is smooth and lively, making overtakes easy and city riding effortless. It feels quick and responsive, although it never feels aggressive or overwhelming despite being close to the 40 bhp mark.
The X440 T, on the other hand, comes with a long stroke engine that focuses more on torque. You can feel the 38 Nm almost instantly when you twist the throttle. It pulls strongly from low speeds, which makes it comfortable for relaxed riding and cruising. The trade off is that it does not have much excitement in the top end.
Both engines have very different personalities, and a short test ride should make it clear which one matches your riding style better.
How important is road presence to you?
When it comes to road presence, the X440 T has a clear advantage. Its bulky proportions and larger stance make it stand out more, and it feels like a big motorcycle on the road. The Speed 400, by comparison, is more compact and can blend into traffic more easily.
That said, the Speed 400 does feel slightly better put together in terms of fit and finish. So while it may not shout for attention, it does come across as well built and premium when you look closely.
How much does your budget influence your choice?
