Mahindra Vision S SUV spotted testing once again
Mahindra prepares to launch the Vision S SUV, featuring a rugged design and practical elements, expected to hit the market in early 2027.
Mahindra is gearing up to strengthen its SUV lineup with the Vision S, a new model that has been spotted testing on Indian roads ahead of its global debut. Although the test vehicle was covered in heavy camouflage, it still revealed enough to suggest that Mahindra is working on a distinctly styled and more purpose driven SUV. The Vision S is expected to go on sale in early 2027, with detailed information on engines, variants and pricing likely to be revealed closer to launch.

From the spy video, the Vision S adopts a boxy and upright silhouette that clearly aligns with a rugged SUV character. The front end features circular headlamps combined with a bold grille that uses vertical slats and carries a prominent Mahindra badge. Squared wheel arches, chunky body cladding and flat body panels reinforce the tough, utilitarian stance, while keeping subtle modern elements.

At the rear, the design continues to emphasise functionality. Vertically stacked tail lamps, an upright tailgate and a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate. The tall roofline further hints at generous headroom and a spacious cabin. On the sides, there are flush-type door handles but considering that China has banned such-type of door handles, there is a possibility that other countries might follow the same. So, we will have to wait for the official launch to happen to see whether Mahindra retains these door handles or not.
Interior details have not been revealed yet, but expectations are high for a more modern and feature-rich cabin compared to Mahindra’s current offerings. The Vision S is likely to get a touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, automatic climate control, multiple USB charging ports and cruise control. On the safety front, features such as ABS with EBD, traction and stability control, and multiple airbags are expected to be part of the package.
Mechanically, the Mahindra Vision S is tipped to sit on a new generation platform. This architecture is expected to deliver better ride comfort, improved handling and higher overall efficiency. Importantly, it is also believed to be compatible with future electrified powertrains, ensuring that the Vision S remains relevant as Mahindra expands its electric and hybrid portfolio.
