Dhindsa said that this step had been taken to expedite the functioning of state government, besides speedy disbursement of funds since earlier the Plans schemes were sent to planning department for funds clearance.

He said that now only those schemes would be sent to planning department which were not approved by the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. He said that the proposals sent by various departments should be self-cleared.

Necessary directions in this regard had been issued to all financial commissioner, principal secretaries and administrative secretaries of the state government.
