MP man, accused of killing 2 boys to marry their mother, found dead in well

A 34-year-old man suspected to have killed two boys over the weekend to be able to marry their mother was found dead in a well in Chhatarpur district’s Luvkush Nagar on Monday, police said.

Police said the man, who is suspected to have abducted the two boys, was suspected to have died by suicide. He had been missing since Sunday after the bodies of the two children, aged 9 and 11, were found in another well in Pahadtare ka Purva village.

Jujharnagar police station in-charge Rajkumar Yadav said the two boys had gone to school on Friday. When they did not return, their mother filed a missing complaint. During its investigation, police came across CCTV footage that showed the man taking the boys with him on a bike.

Police said the children went along willingly because they recognised the suspect, who was a frequent visitor to their home to meet their mother.

When the two children were found dead in a well, the mother told the police that he wanted to live with her and considered the children obstacles.

On Monday morning, villagers in Kunwarpur found the man’s body in the well. Police said he was identified by a tattoo on his arm.

Police said investigators were probing the circumstances around his death.
