Chandigarh: No Covid fatality for 4th day in row, 27 test positive

While Mohali logged nine new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, Chandigarh added eight. In Panchkula, where only two cases had been detected on Saturday, the daily count shot up to 10 on Sunday.

The tricity detected 27 fresh Covid-19 infections on Sunday, though no fatality was reported for the fourth consecutive day.

The tricity’s daily count had stood at 23 on Saturday.

Tricity now has 173 active cases, of which 71 are in Chandigarh, 66 in Mohali and 36 in Panchkula. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 91,803 people have tested positive in Chandigarh while 9,0567 have recovered and 1,165 have died.

In Mohali, 95,622 have caught the infection so far, of which 94,408 have been cured and 1,148 have succumbed. Panchkula has reported 44,087 cases till date. These include 43,637 recoveries and 414 deaths.
