Haryana: Man dies by suicide after killing wife over domestic dispute in Sirsa

A 45-year-old man allegedly killed his wife following a domestic dispute and later died by suicide at their residence in Dashmesh Nagar in Sirsa district of Haryana, police said on Thursday.

The deceased was a mason by profession. Investigating officer Lekhraj said the police found the wife’s body in the kitchen and the man’s body in a room when they reached the spot.

The police took both bodies into custody and sent them to the Civil Hospital in Sirsa for post-mortem examinations after completing the inquest proceedings.

Police recorded the statement of the couple’s son and further action is being taken based on his account, the police said. Preliminary investigations suggest that the couple frequently quarrelled over domestic issues, which may have led to the incident. The man’s brother, also confirmed that the couple had a history of domestic disputes and argued a day before the incident.

Police said the matter was under investigation and further details would emerge after examining the post-mortem reports and other evidence.
