J&K Police file chargesheet against four in 2022 Rajouri IED blast case

Probe targets Pakistan-based LeT handler and three operatives for drone arms smuggling and terror attack near Jagalanoo Bridge

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have chargesheeted four individuals—including a Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) handler—in connection with an IED blast that targeted the Jagalanoo Bridge in Rajouri on April 19, 2022, injuring two non-local labourers.

The chargesheet, filed under FIR No. 33/2022 at the Kandi police station, names three arrested suspects from Draj (Kotranka): Talib Hussain Shah, Mohammad Sadiq, and Mohammad Shabir.

It also names absconding handler Mohammad Qasim (alias Salman/Suleman), who operates from Pakistan/PoJK. All four face charges under the UAPA, IPC, and Explosive Substances Act.

According to police, Qasim orchestrated the plot from across the border, remaining in encrypted contact with Talib Shah.

Shah, a self-styled LeT commander who was eventually captured by villagers in Reasi in July 2022, directed the module to receive drone-dropped consignments of arms, explosives, and cash in the Lamberi forests before planting the bridge IED.
