Ludhiana logs 2 fresh Covid cases, no causality

With this, the total count of Covid cases in the Ludhiana district has reached 1,09,704, of which 1,07,384 patients have recovered and 2,276 have succumbed to the virus

The district logged two fresh cases of Covid in the last 24 hours with no casualty reported during the said period, as per the bulletin released by district health department on Saturday. With this, the total count of Covid-19 cases in the district has reached 1,09,704, of which 1,07,384 patients have recovered and 2,276 have succumbed to the virus. Of 44 active cases in the district, 40 are under home isolation, three patients were admitted at private hospitals and one at a government facility. The administration appealed to the residents to continue taking precautions.

Six students from Ludhiana still stuck in Ukraine

Six students from Ludhiana studying in various universities of Ukraine are still stuck in war-torn country, reveals the data compiled by the district administration. Deputy commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said efforts were on to ensure the safe exit of these six students by coordinating with the ministry of external affairs. Out of the total 112 students stuck in the country, as 51 have returned, while 43 have taken shelter in other neighbouring countries such as Poland, Romania and Hungary. Phone numbers of 12 students were still not reachable.

One victim of cylinder blast succumbs

A day after the cylinder blast in Janakpuri, one of the injured, Arun Kumar, 18, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. Another victim, Jatinder Pal, 35, is still undergoing treatment. Sub-inspector Akash Dutt said the duo were working in a godown when the cylinder exploded.

Video of snatcher being thrashed goes viral, probe launched

After a video of people assaulting a turbaned man went viral on social media, police initiated investigation of the incident which took place near Tajpur Road. Tibba SHO Nardev Singh said the turbaned man is Fateh Singh, a habitual offender who is already booked in two cases of snatching. We have received a complaint from Sikh Youth Club, Meharban, would take necessary action against the people involved in the assault.

Illegal constructions: FIR recommended against two
