Woman, 2 children killed in fire at south Delhi’s BK Dutt colony: Police

Two children and a woman died after a building caught fire in south Delhi’s BK Dutt colony on Tuesday morning, officials from the fire department said.

Delhi Fire Services (DFS) officials said that at 10:21am, the fire control room was notified of a house fire at B Block in BK Dutt colony. The Safdarjung fire station responded to the emergency, dispatching three fire trucks.
“At 10:50am, station officer Manoj reported that the fire was in the third floor of a house. He further reported that three people, a woman and two children, were found dead on the third floor during the firefighting operation. By 11:10am, the fire was controlled. However, the cooling operation is continuing,” said a DFS official.

Officials said that the exact cause of the fire will be investigated once the firefighting and cooling operations are over.
Details regarding the identities of the deceased are awaited.
