Gurugram: The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has warned field officials against any lapses in using the Complaint Handling System (CHS) mobile application, after an internal audit brought to light that consumers were not receiving prior alert of scheduled outages or maintenance work as information about them were not being fed into it, officials said on Thursday.

The official said DHBVN managing director Vikram Singh has issued directions for strict compliance and the use of the CHS to ensure that all information is sent to consumers in a timely manner.

The DHBVN IT department has also written to the superintending engineers to ensure full use of the mobile application, as complaints rise in the summer when power consumption is very high.

A senior discom official said that several training sessions have already been conducted over the past months, and field offices have been repeatedly educated on the use of the application.

“Sending prior intimation nullifies the ire of consumers who are forced to contact officials, reach offices or post complaints against the discom on social media,” the official said.

“Special attention has been sought from the Gurugram and Faridabad operation circles to improve the use of the application with immediate effect,” Sanjay Chug, public relations officer of DHBVN, said.

Meanwhile, the DHBVN director on Thursday said that the discom control room will continue to function round the clock to monitor the power supply amid the summer season.

“All officials have been directed to remain alert to ensure an uninterrupted power supply. The control room will monitor real-time power availability, supply, outage tripping and breakdowns to keep a detailed record for improving efficiency at the feeder level,” he said.

The director said that the status of 11kV and 33kV feeders suffering from breakdowns beyond specific counts every month will be reviewed, and dynamic load management will be carried out during peak demand.
