Ramayana circuit : Passengers of inaugural ‘Bharat Gaurav’ train visit popular sites in Prayagraj
Cabinet minister for industry in the Yogi government Nand Gopal Gupta “Nandi” along with senior administrative officials of the district administration welcomed the passengers.
Passengers of the inaugural ‘Bharat Gaurav’ train, which connects Ramayana circuit destinations in India and Nepal, visited various religious sites of the Sangam city on Monday.
The passengers, who arrived from Varanasi from special charted buses on Sunday night, were given a rousing welcome in the city. Cabinet minister for industry in the Yogi government Nand Gopal Gupta “Nandi” along with senior administrative officials of the district administration welcomed the passengers.
There are 550 tourists on the train. After departing from Delhi’s Safdarjung railway station on June 21, the train arrived at Janakpur Dham, Nepal, on June 23. The train, operating on the ‘Ramayana Circuit’, will be covering various religious destinations associated with Lord Ram and Sita. For the first time, it visited Janakpur Dham in Nepal in addition to other popular destinations such as Ayodhya, Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Panchvati (Nasik), Hampi, Rameshwaram, and Bhadrachalam, informed chief regional manager, IRCTC, Ajit Kumar Sinha.
All the tourists of the Shri Ramayana Yatra Bharat Gaurav tourism train visited Sangam on Monday and took a dip in the holy waters of the confluence. Thereafter, they visited Bade Hanuman temple in the Sangam area and performed aarti. The next destination of their visit was the ancient Maharishi Bharadwaj Ashram, located at Balson crossing.
After lunch, the passengers proceeded towards Shringverpur Dham, where after worshipping Mata Shanta and Shringi Rishi temple and performing the aarti of Mother Ganga, they left for Chitrakoot on the buses.
On arrival at Chitrakoot, the passengers will have dinner and have an overnight stay. On Tuesday, they will be taken to various religious sites around Chitrakoot, including Mandakini river, Sati Ansuia Ashram, Gupt Godavari, Ramghat etc. From there, the bus would move in the evening towards Manikpur railway station, where the passengers would once again board the train and go to Nashik, Sinha said.
