Ravichandran Ashwin’s two wickets and Ravindra Jadeja combined to wreck Bangladesh in the final session on day 4. For the visitors, Shakib Al Hasan held firm and he, along with skipper Musfiqur Rahim will be the key on the final day of the one-off Test in Hyderabad. 16:52 hrs IST:Ashwin, who picked up 250 wickets, says, “Good to have the [250] record. It was a delight to bowl in the second innings. I was a little rusty in the first innings but got into a better rhythm in the second innings. Today was one of those days when I started enjoying my spell right from the start.”

16:46 hrs IST: That is stumps on day 4 and India are inching towards yet another victory. They are seven wickets away from victory while Bangladesh need 356 more runs for an unlikely, but not impossible win. The key, though, will be whether they can bat 90 overs on a pitch which is starting to deteriorate.

Off-break from Ashwin bowled over the wicket, it is on middle and leg and spins away sharply, Mominul pokes at it and the edge is taken.

Ashwin gets this delivery to straighten outside off and Tamim pokes at it, he gets an inside edge onto the pad and Kohli takes it at slip, umpire Marais Erasmus does not give it and India review, replays show big inside edge, Kohli had indicated to the umpire that he caught it and the appeal was for a catch.

14:44 hrs IST: Steady start for Bangladesh so far. Not many demons on this pitch still.But, with Ashwin bowling with the new ball, anything can happen.

14:38 hrs IST: Edged but safe! This delivery spins away just outside off and Sarkar plays that softly, the edge flies past slip and to the third man boundary.

This was always on the cards. After pulling the previous ball for a four, Taijul tries to duck and fend a short ball at the same time, he gloves it to Saha who takes the catch.

10:12 hrs IST: Taijul is looking like a deer staring into the headlights as he faces Ishant Sharma’s short balls. He is just clinging on as India search for another wicket.

09:23 hrs IST: The pitch has not crumbled much and it is still a good wicket to bat on. There are some rough patches on the wicket though.

09:10 hrs IST: A warm welcome to day 4 of the one-off Test between India and Bangladesh from Hyderabad. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehedi Hasan will be aiming to help Bangladesh avoid the follow-on. India’s bowlers will be hoping to take the remaining wickets quickly.

Bangladesh face a steep task if they are to avoid the follow-on in response to India’s mammoth first innings total of 687 for six wickets declared.

On Saturday, Bangladesh fought back against India through half centuries from Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehedi Hasan to reach 322 for six at the close of the third day’s play. The visitors still need another 166 runs to make India bat again.

Captain Mushfiqur Rahim will resume at his unbeaten score of 81 while a dogged Mehedi Hasan will start at 51 not out.

Mushfiqur Rahim became the fourth Bangladeshi and 184th batsman overall to complete 3,000 runs in Tests. But records will be far from his mind as the Tigers aim to save a Test where India still have the advantage.
