The 2023 editon of the Indian Premier League could likely be MS Dhoni's last as a player, and the Chennai Super Kings captain has been receiving tremendous support at every venue across the country. The 41-year-old Dhoni, considered as one of India's greatest captain, has dropped hints about his “farewell” in this season and as he turned up in the CSK yellow at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur, a sea of yellow jerseys greeted the India legend.

Even as CSK conceded a 32-run loss against the Rajasthan Royals, the full capacity crowd at the stadium stayed back to listen to Dhoni during the post-match presentation. While Dhoni initially spoke about the Super Kings' loss in the game, commentator Ian Bishop asked the CSK skipper about his experience at playing in Jaipur, and his return to the stadium after years.

To crowd's immense cheer, Dhoni recalled his incredible knock in Jaipur in 2005, when he smashed an unbeaten 183 against Sri Lanka; the former Indian captain stated that the knock solidifed his position in the side.

“They (the fans) will be chasing me throughout. It's a very special venue because my first ODI hundred was in Vizag, which gave away maybe 10 games to me (for Team India). But the 183 over here, it ensured I get a chance for another one year. So, it's a good venue, it's close to my heart, and it's good to be back here,” Dhoni said.

Earlier, the Rajasthan Royals registered their second win over the Super Kings this season, having beaten the side by 3 runs in their opening meeting in Chennai. The RR posted a mammoth score of 202/5 in 20 overs, and restricted the Super Kings to 170/6, with Adam Zampa (3/22) being the pick of the bowlers.

CSK will return to action on April 30 when they host the Punjab Kings.
