Former Indian captain MS Dhoni has assured Tamil Nadu fans that he will try to learn a bit more Tamil by the next season of the Indian Premier League. Dhoni was attending the Tamil Nadu Premier League match between Madurai Panthers and Kovai Kings that was played at the Indian Cement Company Ground, Tirunelveli and was speaking with Laxman Sivaramakrishnan and also joined the captains of both teams for the toss.

The conversation started in Tamil when Dhoni was asked about his well being as “how are you?” to which the former captain replied “I’m good.”
However, the former captain could not quite respond to the questions which were posed to him after the first one.
“That is a difficult one. Throughout the IPL I tried learning a lot of Tamil but as the IPL gets over, I have to start from scratch again,” Dhoni said.
“I don’t think my Tamil has improved a lot apart from the few basics that I’ve learnt over the years. So, i will make it sure that by the next edition of the IPL, I’ll learn a bit more Tamil,” Dhoni added with a smile.
The Chennai Super Kings skipper also spoke about the TNPL and said, “What brings me here is the TNPL (Tamil Nadu Premier League), of course, to start off.”
