WPL Points Table 2025

22 matchesFeb 14 - Mar 15

The third season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 kicks off on February 14, promising another thrilling edition of one of the world’s premier women’s T20 cricket tournaments. The action-packed season will span nearly a month, culminating with the final scheduled for March 15.

The opening match of WPL 2025 will be played between Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. The final of WPL 2025 has been scheduled at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

WPL 2025 fixtures are scheduled across four venues in India, where 22 matches will be played including the eliminator and the final. The venues are:

Vadodara (Kotambi Stadium): Hosting the initial six matches

Bengaluru (M. Chinnaswamy Stadium): Hosting the subsequent eight matches

Lucknow (Ekana Cricket Stadium): Hosting four matches

Mumbai (CCI Stadium): Hosting the final leg, including four matches, the eliminator on March 13, and the final on March 15

Format of WPL 2025

The WPL 2025 edition will follow a double round-robin league format, ensuring every team faces each other twice—once at home and once away, which would make up for a total of 20 league-stage matches. Following the league stage, the top three teams on the points table will progress to the playoffs. The team finishing first on the points table directly qualifies for the final, while the teams placed second and third face off in an eliminator to earn their spot in the final.

Teams earn two points for a win, while matches ending in a tie or no result will see both teams awarded one point each. The standings on the points table are determined first by the total points earned, followed by net run rate (NRR) as the tiebreaker in case teams are level on points.

The third edition of WPL 2025 will see participation of five franchises:

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

Mumbai Indians (MI)

Gujarat Giants (GG)

Delhi Capitals (DC)

UP Warriorz (UPW)

WPL Points Table FAQs

  • What is the league format this season?

The format for the league matches in the second season of the Women's Premier League (WPL) will be the same as the first. Each team will face each other twice, with one match each played at both sides' "home" and "away" venues, although it will only be Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals who will truly be playing in front of their home crowds. The team finishing top of the table qualifies directly for the final where they will face the side that wins the Eliminator between the second and third-placed teams.

  • Who finished in the top three last season?

Delhi Capitals finished top of the table last season with MI in second place. UP took up third spot, thus playing a one-match Eliminator against MI. MI won the match and beat DC in the final to win the inaugural title.

  • Will the timings be the same as last year?

Yes, they will be, which means all matches start at 7.30pm IST. Unlike last year, though, there will be no double-headers.

  • How many matches will each team play in the league stage?

Each team will play eight matches, thus making it 20 matches in the league stage. A total of 22 matches will be played over the course of the season.
