Kidnapped boy rescued from childless couple

A three-year-old boy, who went missing over a week back, was rescued by the west Delhi Police from the clutches of a childless couple. The couple got him from their aunt who allegedly had kidnapped him.

A three-year-old boy, who went missing over a week back, was rescued by the west Delhi Police from the clutches of a childless couple. The couple got him from their aunt who allegedly had kidnapped him.

The police have arrested the couple and their aunt in connection with the case.

The woman had sold the child to the couple, as they remained childless even after 13 years of their marriage, the police said.

The arrested have been identified as Urmila Srivastava, 37, the woman who kidnapped the child, Sunita, 32, and her husband Mahipal, 36.

The child was kidnapped by Urmila, from outside his house in Uttam Nagar on January 11. He was rescued from the couple's house in Ghaziabad, the police said.

V. Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (west) said Gulshan Khan, father of the child, had approached police claiming his son was missing and a case in this regard was registered.
