Man held for raping niece
Delhi Police have arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly raping his 15-year-old niece for over three months in Kanjhawala area of outer Delhi. The accused, Vinod Kumar, was arrested on Wednesday evening after the girl's mother filed a police complaint. HT reports.
Delhi Police have arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly raping his 15-year-old niece for over three months in Kanjhawala area of outer Delhi. The accused, Vinod Kumar, was arrested on Wednesday evening after the girl's mother filed a police complaint.
The police said girl first told her friends who told a teacher in her school. The girl's teacher informed her mother and a complaint was filed at the Kanjhawla police station. Kumar is a transporter and has admitted to the crime.
"He would rape the girl in her parent's absence at home. He had threatened the girl of dire consequences. The victim is a Class X student at a government school. Her father is a driver," a senior police officer said.
A case of rape has been registered. Police said Kumar is divorced and his wife lives in Mumbai. Medical examination of the girl confirmed rape.
