Man held for stealing from ATM

A man has been arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 8.24 lakh from an ATM of a private bank in Sriniwas Puri in south Delhi, police said on Thursday.

Kuldeep Gupta was arrested yesterday after he confessed to the crime, police said. The arrest came on a complaint filed by Col JS Sekhon, (Retd), manager of Brinks Arya India, regarding remission of cash Rs 8.24 lakh from an ATM of ICICI Bank on June 6. The police zeroed in on Gupta who was having combination number for opening the ATM and feeding cash in it.

"Interrogation was carried out exploring different tactics and ultimately he broke down and admitted to the offence," a senior police official said.
