The decision to include NRDWP, Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns (UIDSSMT) and Urban Infrastructure and Governance (UIG) was taken at a Cabinet meeting in New Delhi on Thursday.

The meeting also approved inclusion of Mewat district in place of Gurgaon, which has been bifurcated, in Haryana as one of the minority concentration districts, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ambika Soni told reporters in New Delhi.

She said the Cabinet also decided to include MPs and MLAs in the state and district level committees to monitor the implementation of the 15-point programme.

This modification would also make them members in the state and district level committees for implementation of Multi-Sectoral Development Programme (MSDP), Soni said.

The Minister also gave figures showing steady increase in the recruitment of minorities in the Central Government and the Public Sector Undertakings since issuance of government guidelines in 2007.
