Security guard shot at over parking dispute
A personal security guard of a builder fired at a guard over a parking dispute in Punjabi Bagh area of west Delhi on Saturday night. Police said the builder has three cars and neighbours have complained against him earlier too.
"The lane has a common guard and the builder named Vinod Sandhu usually parks his three cars outside his house. Residents said they have asked him to park the cars inside his house as it affects vehicular movement. On Saturday, the guard was asking Sandhu's PSO Rajbir Sharma to do the same thing when the latter took out his licensed revolver and shot at guard Naresh Kumar," V Renganathan, additional CP (west) said.
Kumar was hit on his right leg and was rushed to a hospital. The personal security guard, who is a native of Sonepat, has been arrested.
"Some beat constables were nearby and they rushed to the spot after hearing gun shots. Sharma was caught on the spot. The guard's condition is stable," Renganathan added. Sharma, an employee of Metro Security Services, was a home guard earlier. He is presently working as a personal security guard of the builder in East Punjabi Bagh.
Police said both of them used to have arguments over parking in the past as well. "They entered into an argument once again on Saturday and Sharma fired at the guard," police said.
