Kalpana Kumari, who got first rank in NEET, topped the Bihar board 12th result for the science stream

The Bihar State Education Board (BSEB) on Wednesday declared the results of Class 12 examination for 2018.

The Science stream was topped by Kalpana Kumari, who also secured the all India first rank in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to medical colleges. She scored 434 marks out of a possible 500. Kalpana is a student of Navodaya Vidyalaya in Tariyani, Sheohar.

In Commerce, Nidhi Sinha of RDS College, Muzzafarpur, topped with 434 marks.The stream had a pass percentage of 91.32.

In the Arts stream, Kusum Kumari of Simultala Vidyalaya was the topper with 424 marks. Arts had a pass percentage of 63.12.

The board said 52.95 percent of the 11,92,000 students who took the exam passed. The 2018 pass percentage for the BSEB 12th result was 17.7 percentage points more than last year’s.

BSEB has set 13-20 July as the date for scrutiny. Scrutiny of the BSEB 12th result can be initiated by paying Rs70, BSEB said, with no restriction on the number of subjects.

BSEB also said that the compartmental exam form will be available in July and the test is expected to be held by the end of the month or in the first week of August.

Forms for seeking admission in graduation courses in Bihar universities will be available from 11 June online for a fee of 300.
