Indian students in UAE get special window to apply for NRI certificates for college admission
The Consulate will open walk in facility on April 4 for Indian students who want to apply for NRI certificates for college admissions.
The Consulate General of India has announced a special facility for Class 12 Indian students who need NRI certificates for college admissions in India. The walk in serice to apply for the certificate will be available on April 4, 2026. Students can walk into all BLS centres in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

This is a one-time exception given to students due to the time-sensitive nature of this matter.
All students who want to apply for NRI certificates must bring their 12th-grade documents and proof of college admission to secure an appointment.
The information was shared by the Consulate General of India on its official X handle. The official notice reads, "On Saturday, 4th April 2026, all eligible students can apply for NRI certificates at any BLS centre as walk-ins, without a prior appointment. Students are required to present their 12th-grade document and proof of college admission for securing the appointment."
Officials have advised students to come early, as applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Further, the Consulate will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates when required.
UAE extends distance learning in schools till April 17 amid US-Iran war
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education, UAE, has extended the distance learning process for all nurseries, kindergartens and public and private schools nationwide until April 17, 2026. This decision was taken to priortise safety of children, teachers and others amid US-Iran war conditions.
